The staff at Lone Star Silver Exchange, and the Discount Silver Club understand your need for privacy. We guarantee that we will not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with any other company. We will not disclose your membership in the club to anyone without your written or verbal permission. Subscription to our newsletter at Yahoo Groups is voluntary, and your email address is not visible to other subscribers, only to the list administrator, Jennifer Barry.

THE IRS AND PRECIOUS METALS

Lone Star Silver Exchange and the Discount Silver Club are only required to file IRS Form 1099B ("Proceeds from Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions") if the purchase could be used to satisfy a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulated futures contract. This is currently a minimum of 5,000 ounces of silver, over $60,000 dollars at current prices.

We are only obligated to report cash sales on IRS Form 8300 if a member buys more than $10,000 worth of silver in cash in a 24 hour period. This can be in more than one payment if the transactions are connected. If we file Form 8300 on a member, Lone Star Silver Exchange will inform the member in writing as required by law. For the purposes of tax law, "cash" includes a cashier's check, money order, bank draft, or traveler's check. Personal checks and wire transfers from your bank account do not count as cash, no matter the amount.
